Hi Patrick. The installer package will try to find where Photoshop is installed and install the plugin for you. It's possible that it doesn't find it, in that case you can install it manually as follows.

The installer will create the plugin file at /Library/indii.org/tintii. Copy that file into your Photoshop Plug-Ins directory, usually something like /Applications/Adobe Photoshop*/Plug-Ins, or just create an alias for it there, then restart Photoshop. Creating an alias is generally the better idea -- updates in future will overwrite the /Library/indii.org/tintii file, and with the alias in the right spot, that will automatically update the plugin in Photoshop for you, so you won't have to copy it across again.

If you could let me know where your Photoshop Plug-Ins directory is, I can add it to the search list for the installer to help out other users -- would be much appreciated.

I should say also -- the download for Mac has now been updated to this .dmg file. If anyone happens to have trouble with this, they can go back to the original (and would be good to hear from you in this case!).

Thanks for the report back Roger. Would you mind sending the log.txt my way? Email might be best, lawrence[at]indii.org. I can have a look into some of these issues, but at least we know it's working on 10.4 Tiger, albeit a little flaky!

Thanks! The .dmg file worked and when opened revealed another .pkg file, but this one worked and installed well. I just had a quick little test as I am making lunches for the kids (so it isn't indepth at all), but 1) opened one handy tiff on my computer and it gave me an error message about the file (I saved the log.txt file if you want it) although the photo still opened, 2) the software worked well - picked out the colors and faded everything else to grey, and this without me trying too hard, and 3) tried moving the red saturation (?) slider all the way to the left and the program crashed (twice doing that same thing). Now, this is an older G4 iBook running it, and maybe there is something wrong with the tiff file, but maybe I will have time to test later on a different computer.

Hi again Roger. It seems that flat .pkg files are only supported by Mac OS X Leopard, not Tiger, which is presumably what the problem is here. I've packaged it up in a .dmg file instead, which should be compatible with Tiger I believe. You can download that here. Let me know if this one works ok for you, if so, I'll add it to the download page.

Follow up: Here is the exact wording of the dialog box that opens when the package is double clicked for installation:

Open Failed
Couldn't open "tintii-2.2.0.pkg". This package type requires Mac OS X 10.5.

Hi Lawrence. Installation doesn't even start - when I double click on the installer package, I immediately get a little window popping up saying that this package type needs system 10.5. I can get the exact wording of the text if you want, but that is the gist of it.

Thanks for the report Roger. How far into the installation do you get before this message comes up? And could you post the exact error message that you get?
