Working with panes

The window consists of five panes:

  • the preview pane provides a preview of the filtered image,
  • the thumbs pane displays the major colours detected by Tintii and provides controls that affect individual colours,
  • the channel mixer pane controls the mixing of red, green and blue channels to form the final image,
  • the postprocessing pane provides controls that affect the entire image, and
  • the preprocessing pane provides fine control over Tintii's colour detection algorithm.

By default, the preview pane dominates the window, with the thumbs pane to the right, and remaining panes to the bottom. It is possible to rearrange these panes as you like: simply click the title bar of the pane and drag it to a new position. Panes can either be docked on one of the edges of the window, or can float as a separate window. The layout that you choose will be saved when you exit Tintii, to be restored for the next session. To revert to the original layout at any time, use the Window > Restore Default Layout menu item.

Tip:Changing the layout of panes can be particularly useful for photos of nonstandard dimension. For example, if working with a wide panorama, you may wish to dock the thumbs pane at the top of the workspace to provide more space in the horizontal to the preview pane.
