I've not tried it with Triton Classic, but I'd imagine it should get you most of the way there, if not all of the way. I'd have thought all the controller settings are the same, there will be all the extension banks on the Extreme that aren't on the Classic that will show up, but you can delete them easily enough through Rosegarden, as well as make edits for your custom patches.
